Below, a 36,000 Gallon Oak Wine Aging Barrel. One of the last around and soon to be retired.

 

Charles Krug is not only one of the oldest vineyards but was a pioneer in the process in which California wines are made. He pioneered the use of a press instead of foot stomping and aged the wines underground instead of hanging them in botas from trees.
