Welcome To Our Gardens!

Come on in!

Take a stroll through our gardens throughout the year! The intention of this page is to serve two purposes. One is to document the progress of the gardens throughout the seasons; as a gardener's diary.  And secondly to  provide some helpful information and links for fellow gardeners.

This garden has been "under construction" since 1992, and it keeps growing in more ways than one!

It started with moving nine spirea bushes from the front of our house to the back. All of them transplanted nicely! We drastically cut them back after a hard freeze and dug like crazy! Actually, we were surprised and lucky that the roots weren't that deep !

Each year, after they bloom, I like to cut them back to let sunlight in for the flowers and help the bushes get ready for another spectacular bloom next spring. It makes a great backdrop for the colorful tulips. I hope to plant more bulbs this coming fall to fill in the gaps for next year.

Most of the summer flowers planted here are full sun  perennials.  I think I've found a nice assortment that keeps color in the garden all year. Deadheading is a must for continual blooms.
