Coreopsis grandiflora:
Bright yellow daisy-like flower on wispy stems, basal foliage grows in a mound, a charming
and excellent cutting flower, very hardy, however is susceptible to mildew or leafspot.
This little sweetheart blooms all through the summer and into the fall.

Dianthus caryophyllus (carnation):
Red clusters of blooms on wiry stems, spicy clove perfume, best blooms in early
spring to summer, sparse blooms in fall.
Creeping Verbena: circular clusters of purple flowers, blooms early summer to fall.
Both are great for rock gardens or borders, both are short lived perennials.

Mountain Bluet-(centaurea
montana):Cobalt blue flowers with jagged-edged petals, blooms June-July, longer if
deadheaded, whitish hairs on lance shaped foliage, cut back when new growth appears in the
middle. Butterflies and bumble bees love this plant!

rudbeckia purpurea): rosy purple, daisy-like flowers with orange brown centers or cones,
grows up to 4 feet tall, plant full sun, easily propagated, this is another butterfly
favorite!
