CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT PLAN

ST. JOHN’S CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL

 

ATTENDANCE:

 

·         It is your responsibility to contact the teacher for ALL missed assignments.  A due date will be agreed upon by the teacher and student.  Failure to comply or turn in work will result in zero credit!!

 

·         If you miss a test day, see teacher ASAP to schedule a make-up test.  I reserve the right to make all make-up tests completely essay! If a scheduled make-up test is missed, a zero will be issued for that test!

 

·         Class Materials -  textbook, writing utensil, paper, binder/folder for organization

 

·         Leaving the classroom -  teacher discretion on restroom, drink, or locker breaks.  Emergencies are the exception!

 

HOMEWORK/GRADING:

 

·         NO LATE WORK!!  Zero credit for any late work.  (Note:  See teacher for exceptions!)

 

·         Absolutely NO CHEATING.  Suspicion is grounds enough.  Consequences include zero credit and written up for academic dishonesty.  Cheating applies to anything you do in this class.  Respect your own work as well as others!

 

·         Grades are based on a point system:  student total points divided by total points possible

 

·         Daily Assignments (30%);  Tests (45%);  Respectful group interaction and class participation/behavior (5%);  Quizzes (10%);  Research projects and presentations (10%).

 

STUDENT EXPECTATIONS/CONDUCT:

           

·         Bring all required materials to class.

·         Be in your assigned seat and ready to work when the bell rings.

·         Be respectful towards everyone in the classroom.

·         Listen carefully and respect all instructions.

·         Silence during announcements and prayer.

·         Obey all rules as stated in handbook.

·         Once 3 tardies have been accumulated, a teacher detention will be assigned.

 

 

 

Consequences for Misconduct:

 

·         Each student will have a point card for minor classroom violations.

·         Minor violations range from tardiness, failure to bring required materials, profanity, class disruptions, disrespect, dress code violations, passing notes, etc.

·         Each card will allow for an accumulation of 3 points before a demerit/referral is written. 

·         With each additional accumulation of 3 points, another demerit is given.

 

3 points   =  1st demerit

6 points   = 2nd demerit

9 points   = 3rd demerit

12 points =  4th demerit

15 points =  5th demerit

            After 15 points, direct demerits will be given for any violation.

 

·         The teacher reserves the right to write a demerit/office referral at any time, rather than assigning a violation point.

·         Students will be notified with each point accumulated.
